Merit Hagenkort is an author and illustrator based in San Francisco, CA.
She was born in Cologne, Germany, and has also lived in Norway, England, and other parts of the USA.
With her art, Merit wants to tell stories and create rich and colorful worlds to crawl into and find comfort. When she is not illustrating or writing, Merit likes to be outdoors with her friends and her little dog Coconut.
Merit works mostly with ink and water color, both on paper and on her iPad. She is currently open to a wide range of projects, including children’s, editorial, and commercial illustrations.
Merit is open for representation and is currently finishing up a children’s novel.
